About the Authors
Emily Kieson is an Austin-based author, freelance writer, screenwriter, and illustrator
who primarily writes fiction for the middle grade market. As an illustrator, Emily works
primarily in pastels and focuses on cover art for books as well as portraiture. She is a
self-taught artist with a degree in Ecology and can be found teaching horseback riding
lessons or training horses when she is not writing. She's currently working on a middle
grade fantasy series planned for launch later this year.
